Intentional Living

Intentional Living with Dr. Randy Carlson is a nationally syndicated broadcast ministry, reaching out on the airwaves in over 180 markets.  Yet, the web site solution left a lot to be desired.

The broadcast ministry had terrific Biblically-based content and resources it available for the listener – but mediocre traffic to its user - “unfriendly” web site, which had defaulted to “spur of the moment” ideas and a strong influence from many different organizational departments to craft an under performing site.

As a result, it wasn’t for lack of content or resources – rather it was due to the fractured nature in organizing the web content and handling the web providers through several different sources, both eternally and internally, that mitigated the desired impact of a reliable, stable and useful solution for the broadcast ministry’s constituency.

That all changed as the organization (a sister ministry to Family Life Radio) elevated the desired outcomes and expectations of their web solutions. They decided to create a web site that was focused on the listener, brought to the forefront the vast amount of articles, products, audio programs and teaching materials available, and allowed the user to experience something dramatically tied to the recent, strong branding efforts of the non—profit ministry.

That is where the Visual Studio came in to play.  Really serving a dual role as designer and consultant to the long, involved web project, The Visual Studio afforded the ministry an exceptional solution for their grandest dreams and desires.  After a significant project build, implementation phase and web site launch, The intentional Living ministry has seen web traffic almost triple and time spent online (a strong indicator of usefulness)  sky rocket!  In addition, the “page views” have grown enormously, speaking to the user-friendly content, design and direction the web pages now exhibit.

Many of the features were actually custom-built features including the highly-interactive Online Journey which helps users go through a decision-making model, the article library and the e-commerce integration.

Some other features included:

Latitude content management system for multiple users
Audio pod casts and short feature audio programs
“Listen live” to the program feature
Rotating articles that tie to content
Blogs
Polls
Data-mining build
Membership area (exclusive content with paid memberships)
Registration walls
E-mail subscriptions
And many other powerful web user elements
