Family Life Radio

Family Life Communications was ready to make a big change.  With 15 Christian Radio stations across the country (Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Kansas, Georgia, Wisconsin, Michigan, Florida) their web site presence was becoming very dis-jointed.  Not only did they have a website for each station, they had a corporate site, a women’s ministry site, and sites for their nationally syndicated programs.  They decided to make a bold move by blending their radio station sites with their corporate site and smaller ministry sites.  They opted to keep a separate site for their largest national syndicated site called Intentional Living. 

When you first visit the new site you are presented with content at a national level.  This content ranges from national events, articles dealing with every aspect of family life and relationships, polls, news and ads, exclusive product offers, employment opportunities, and prayer requests. 

At the national level the visitor is prompted to select their local station.  Once a station is selected the content on the site transforms.  Now the visitor is presented with program details including what’s currently on the air.  They can see station schedules, playlists, read blogs of their favorite on air personalities, checkout and register for events taking place in their area, view local photo galleries and local content.

The site is also equipped with an online giving area allowing FLC supporters an easy way to support their favorite ministry.  FLC incorporated a premium model which is used to reward those who make donations.  The online giving area also ties into the member’s area of the site.  Donations made at certain levels allow people to become Family Life members entitling them to online privileges including exclusive online content, member articles and blogs.

The site has another dimension that’s transparent to the visitor but very important to FLC.  The site is built with powerful data mining that allows FLC to develop rules around demographics and content preferences.  This allows FLC to promote additional content and products that the site user might be interested in.   The site also takes advantage of  extensive workflow options allowing content to be reviewed and approved prior to being published live on the site.

The really exciting aspect of the new blended site is the amount of content and the consistent message being shared across the entire listening audience.  In addition the site is easily expandable as FLC adds new stations and ministries saving them tons of money over their old solution.
